Technical newbie with small prob

Mornin all,

I just joined, (see general), got a used 1995 N Cinq SX today,only prob I can find on it is that the windscreen washers front & rear doesnt work ???

checked the obvious like fuses etc, wipers ok, not even a whirr/buzz or humming from the washer pump when activated ?

could be the pump, or loose connection, or....or....or ???
Get a repair manual @ the weekend, just wondered if its a simple repair or not.
Any help / advice would be appreciated

ok, thanks for the pointer, but didnt really help, I've checked the washer system, water levels/hoses/fuse etc. I suspect its actually the pump as it doesnt seem to make a sound when operated, am I right in thinking its either behind the dashboard ? It may just be a loose connection at the pump...if I can get to it lol

does sound like the pump im all too familiar off that annoying humming noise with nothing coming out where its run out! doh!

The pumps, one for front one for back, are mounted on the washer bottle, and you'll need to remove some of the splash shielding to get at them.

I'm i right in thinking that seeing as there is no noise from either of the pumps it is more likely to be an electrical connection (Unless you are really unlucky and have 2 naff pumps)

Well, pulled out the toolbox 2day, found the pumps no problem, seems both sets of connection spades are nice shade of green furry corrosion. Hopefully strip, clean & replace the connectors & thats the prob sorted, if not I'll just replace the whole washer bottle / pump assembly from local scrapyard
