Hi All,

Got myself a tidy little Y reg punto as a 2nd car, came with a few issues but overall it's a tidy little thing

My main car is an Omega 3.0, unfortunatly the engine threw up the other week so I bought the punto as a bit of a runaround

Few of the issues listed below

- Handbrake light randomly coming on, brakes feel and act fine, possibly just need a system clear out?

- Gurgling sound from the front, thinking heater matrix?

- Steering wheel points slightly right while the car is pointing slightly forward, probably as simple as need to take it off and put it straight, but I cant see how it's ever been removed, owner before me was some single mum who bought it from new and used it to carry around some rugrats :)

Anyway, hi all, any help sorting these few issues much appreciated!

Gurgling sound is air in the cooling system. There's a guide on here on how to bleed it, be patient, it's sometimes a PITA to do lol

Steering wheel could be as a result of tracking being out, seeing as most places check tracking for free - you won't lose anything in checking.

Rochdale near Manchester fella! Good thing is I know my way around cars but always had Vauxhalls

Hi and welcome :)

As for the handbrake light...

Check your fluid levels...and deffo your rear drums for leaks (y)

I would also check the front and rear pads, as in my old fiesta when that light came on the fluid was low as there were nearly no brake pads left and the piston had obv taken more fluid to push the pad against the disk causing the low level light each time you put the brakes on and the resivior level fell. If you add fluid and dont need to then you will cause problems if it is due to brake pads being low as you will have additional fluid you dont need when you replace the pads

As a good indication check the front pads as most of the braking is done there.
