Hello all, as ever it's newbie time again & I'm straight in with a personal problem - car related that is! As a brief intro I'm an overweight (OK, so I'm a fat bloke) motorsport voyeur (armchair enthusiast & Le Mans regular) car & motorbike addict. I'd rate myself as a "meccano mechanic" ie I can cope with most unbolting, removing, replacing & reafixing jobs & don't usually end up with too many odds'n'sods left over after such tasks...usually. So as an overall self evaluation I'd say I can tell the difference between an eight wheeled Scammell & Niki Lauda comparatively easily!
I've recently euthanised a Kangoo (cam belt & fabricated service record time bomb...another story) and moved up in the world to an early Doblo JTD '03 with 100bhp (once) and 125000 miles on the clock - should be run in by now. The reason for my penchant for car derived vans with the aerodynamics of small bungalows is a dog, a 40 kg German Shepperd who'd rather prefer to sit on my lap as I drive & clean any facial hair I may be sprouting than behave, so it therefore has to go in a bl**dy great cage in the back. The kangoo was actually too small & only a Doblo allows the mutt to travel in the cage with the rear seats in situ. I would've gone for a transit sized minibus but living in a part of London with a Stazi control parking enforcement scheme I had to find something vaguely car based.

There, an intro from one fat man and his dog! cheers,
