Hi Fiat owners,
I am new here and glad to have found this site. I bought a 2012 Fiat 500 Pop last April. I will post a picture soon. Meanwhile I am looking for advice on how to fix the locking mechanism on my passenger door side. The inside handle will unlock the door and does respond to the power locking system. However, the outside handle does not seem to be connected to the latch. A repair of the quarter panel was just completed by a shop, and I believe that they may have not re-secured the connection from the handle to the latch. Maybe I can go in there and reconnect the cable/rod or whatever to fix this without taking to the shop.

Hi royni And welcome to FF.

The door handle of the 500 is a common failing.

Member typecastboy has made a walk.through guide for the swapping of the handle.

This will involve the 2 metal rods connecting the latch with the 2 handles.

Almost certainly your issue.

Personally.. if it was working before the last shop visit.. I would get them to rework it.

I did one recently for somebody and the damn thing kept popping off. Make sure you push it home securely. It’s most likely just flapping around inside the door.
