hi, just joined this forum as seems to be only place real people showing some sense, recently bought a x-reg 2000 ducato maxi 2.8d high roof lwb, ( can almost hear you laughing now), i relly like the ducato style and no diagnostic system was a big plus , i hate the things , i take things apart see how they work then try putting them back together , not done much on it yet , want to turn it into a casual camper, not bothered about dc or gas heating so thats a massive headache avoided. took my time and insulated the van , ran cables for reverse camera and work lights and high level brake and indicator lights , put a 240v hook up on , wired a load of 12v sockets in , renewed back brakes and handbrake as that was seized , changed one of the headlights , replaced the rear cluster lights , and did up all the back plastic bumbers and step and cleaned up the underneath of the van , scrubbed, treated any rust (not much) and sprayed with gravi tex , great stuff . looking at this list seems like ive done a fair bit but compare that with buying a camper at £15k that you cant see what needs to be done cause its hidden with beauty board and 1 x 1 inch battens or a van at £2k that you can see where everything is and what condition its in ,priceless. anyway getting off track i just wanted to say well done to all those out there with similar vans ,first one ive ever bought with no manuals, no wiring diagrams, no one who knows what part will fit , no parts catalogues only EBAY, well done !
