Punto (Mk1) newbie need help asap

hi all im new to the site and needing help. well today my car went bang this morning on the motorway then i had see the rad pipe had a big split in it then when i started it up i have loads of white smoke coming out the exhaust so i had a look at the dip stick and it was frothy then when i tuck the oil cap off it was mustard yellow in the cap
what should i do now :-s

Correct me if im wrong it sounds like head gasket i think i might be wrong lol

Get someone to have a look at it A.S.A.P before you do anything else.

If it can't be driven to a very local garage to you then call out a mobile mechanic or recovery assistance if you have it.

From the information you have given it is most probably a blown head gasket. to repair this the head needs to be removed and a new head gasket fitted, also the oil & filter needs to be changed, adn it would be wise to renew the timing belt as well.

Do not attempt to drive it, will only make it worse.

As AVANTII has said, either call out a mobile mechanic or tow it to a garage.

And get the head skimmed. Easy enough DIY, wise to change thermostat ands water pump at the same time.

Looks like the car may have been neglegted and the failed gasket may have been left unsorted for some time. The whole engine may need some careful assessment berfore replacing the gasket. No point replacing the gasket if the engine is knackered.
