Hi to all. Bought a silver 53 1.9jtd multiwagon a while back ( not quite the same as my old 155 v6 widebody, ah well, but needed a work wagon) and its just as well i like tinkering with cars! Done all the oil and filters, sensors, cabin filter, airbag warning, glow plugs etc. 48mpg around town and 58/60 on a run, cant be bad! Now have 17" blades and a JVC double din DAB/btooth on board.
Have been looking around here for a while and i must say thanks to all for some top tips, so here is one that i found out myself although it might be out there somewhere.
My car was doing the erratic power loss/ wont go, yes it will, oh no not again thing. It turned out to be the brake switch! Could see my brake lights flickering behind me. The switch plunger is on a ratchet and had missed a few teeth so not always on the pedal, so the ecu did not like throttle and brakes on at the same time. 15 minutes of fiddly switch out, pull plunger back out and reinstall, HAPPY DAYS!!
Got to say that i would be hard pushed to replace BJ and it is a cracking little car.
