Hey all,

I just wanted to introduce myself properly to you all. I'm Simon (or Si), I'm 21 and I live in Reading.

I picked up my 4th Fiat today, previous ones were:
1st - 2004 Fiat Punto mk2b 1.2 8v Active 3dr in Steel Grey
2nd - 1999 Fiat Bravo HGT 2.0 20v 5cyl in Nero Black
3dr - 1998 Fiat Punto mk1 GT3 1.4 8v Turbo in Broom Yellow

and now I am the extremely proud owner of a 2007 Fiat Grande Punto Sporting 1.9 M-Jet in Crossover Black :D :D :D

I picked the GP up from the dealer's this afternoon and first impressions are absolutely great (after owning 3 previous Fiats I'm sure this will wear off  lol).

Below are a few pictures, they're crap quality because they were taken on my phone but I'll get some proper pictures at the weekend.

Sorry for the major pic whoreage but I'm just so chuffed :D :slayer: :D :slayer: :D

Will hopefully speak to you all soon (and see some of you at Red Dot for the next RR day

Cheers guys :D (y)

I love it, really do :worship: It's a bit of a shock to the system to go from a petrol to a diesel but I'm learning that the turbo has been and gone at 3k rpm rather than just kicking in at 3k rpm like in the GT

Best bit has to be the drop in fuel consumption, still averaging over 30mpg after blasting it around town and stop starting in rush hour traffic earlier (The GT was lucky to see over 30mpg on a sensible journey lol)

A remap will definately be on the cards for later this year but I want to enjoy it for what it is before I go making it quicker :D

Also very tempted by a few Novitec bits for it :yum: but they will have to wait for a little while.

the power band will go to 4k,nice gp mate but black toooooo high maintenance.wait and see:(

Ta fellers (y)

As for black being high maintenance, tell me about it mate. It's my 3rd black car and they dont get any easier to keep clean  but it's well worth it in my opinion because it looks damn sexy in black

Good choice of cars past and present! Your drive looks a bit like a Fiat garage forecourt. I used to get around 35mpg out of my 1998 Mk I GT and am currently getting 47 out of the Multijet Sporting. However, I couldn't resist booting the Mk I every time I drove it because it was such a fun car to thrash about in. Sounded great too! The Multijet is far more refined, accelerates effortlessly but doesn't have the fun factor of the old GT. I would have kept mine had it been easier to work on, but the bonnet was full of spaghetti.

Nice choice mate. :)

Would have been the model I would have got, had I not been 17 and getting fecked by insurance.

tell me about it! i'm 19 and i still get hammered by the buggers!

Believe I know that feeling, I was insuring a group 15 Bravo HGT when I was 20 with 1 years NCB

The GPS is cheaper for me to insure FC than the Bravo and the Punto GT were to insure TPF&T :)

To be fair my GT was suffering from a blowing exhaust so fuel consumption was increased by that  Bloody good fun to drive but the GPS is just in a whole different league, I feel sophisticated in it whereas I felt like a Boy Racer in the GT.

Welcome to this section Si, i remember back in the day when you had your mk2b

Cheers Matt, Yeah I remember those days. I also remember being absolutely gobsmacked by how truly stunning your Stilo looked in person at Stanford Hall back in 2006 :worship:
