Hi guys...really happy that i found this site. It might just end 3 days of confusion for me...

Im looking to buy a 2002 fiat punto 1.2 Active 5 dr
the Ad gives all the specs I need to know and it looks good, it even says its Ins Group 7 but i cant for the life of me find which insurance group its in on any other website and 7 seems a bit high for it.

I know there is supposdly 50 groups..
and im pretty sure it wont be above 10
parkers website doesnt tell me which is annoying...

anyone able to help?

oh an the Ad doesnt say Active "sport" or anything like that...just plain old "active"

the mk2 punto used to be a group 4 on the 20 scale

Its now a 7 in the 50scale

20 to 50 = 20 x 2.5

So group 4 x 2.5 = 10

so in thoery its actually gone in insurance group!

Most of the 8v's are group 7's the sporting adnd hgt are obviously higher

Parkers website - handy info place has all that information

Ziggy

you wont get cheaper than active
only the mia was a group less but they have keep fit windows and death black bumpies
good cars..............choose wisely

I dont think insurance group should decides if the car is ok to buy
Shop around and get different quotes from different insurer...the insurance group is not the only parameter they check personal circumstances too, how many miles you do, were car is kept etc etc
To give you an example i was paying a lot to insure a fiat uno because i was working in a licensed restaurant so i was more at risk for drink and drive!!
I changed job, got a mazda v6 and paying less than uno!

I used aviva, for my insurance on my mk2 Punto active "sport" for my 1st year driving I thought its pretty cheap compared to some quotes I've had on price comparison sites...
Defo shop around tho.... its hassle bit well worth it.... :)
