Hi !

I have purchased an 11 plate 500 TwinAir plus - that has a blue&me usb port and all the controls on the steering wheel.
But when i press the windows icon button - or the telephone button - i get no English on the dashboard.
I did a bit of surfing this fine forum, and have down loaded the bm configuration and when I plug it in the dashboard says - updating then completed, but the bmconf.xml file created doesnt appear to have a lot of information in it.
I did however carry on - uploaded it to the site, downloaded 5.5 and 5.6, but unzipped and plugged this into the car on a 256Mb USB drive, and i get no config.

SO help is needed - what am i missing or doing wrong?

Is it that this vehicle doesnt have the Blue&Me bluetooth in it ? how would i check?

or is it that it all gone worng and i need to look for an alternative ???

All help and patience gratefully received

on a 2011 car you should press the button and it maybe you would get a voice back, my car a 2011 Punto speaks to you, it doesn't show anything on the dash when you push the windows button, and it is quite possible that the volume is turned right down on the radio so that's why you can't hear anything. The fact you have been able o go through the update process is promising that the set up is working otherwise nothing would happen.

So press the button (windows button) and try turning the volume up as quickly as you can. Also worth noting you have to hold the button for a couple of seconds this is so you don't accidentally press the button while driving, just catching it.

Hi,

With radio in OFF (if not sure switch ignition on then turn radio OFF then switch ignition back OFF).

From this point now just turn on the ignition don't start/crank the car. Then press the windows button on the steering wheel firmly and as Andy says a couple of seconds. Then speak loudly and say 'settings' and again pressing the volume+ on the radio with the radio still switched off you should then get a voice response and ask you to make a further choice like 'user data' 'pairing'. Sometimes I get this immediately on pressing the windows button and sometimes can wait a whole minute but saying 'settings' gets an immediate response back.

This should at least prove your BlueMe voice receiver and BlueMe speaker are indeed working.

If you repeat this again with the radio switched on you should see a message on the radio screen saying BlueMe Voice.

I assume you are downloading from the official Blue&Me website

The config file does not contain much data just the car type and what level of sat nav you have but does have hidden files too. A lot though of the files downloading is all the various PDF language files.

Also you need to format the disc to FAT32.......FAT and NTFS format won't work.

One other thing we found out with a secondhand car it is useful to start by deleting all previous users data and anything previously paired.

Post what happens when you try the first steps as if you have no sound or responses you could have faulty mics for voice recognition.

Hacky my partner in crime has all the info how to check out the config files are correct for your car and can change them to work for the old MagMarelliMAP sat nav or the first tomtom(0ne) and later tomtom2. If you could copy and paste what you see in your config file he will look at it.
