Hi, I'm new to this forum but have used as a guest in the past and appreciate all the help people give. I'm a 500 abarth user and Alfa owner too ? Could do with some advice after replaceing my relatives power steering on a 06 grande punto. All went well. Followed a great thread without removing the steering wheel and airbag. Prob is steering works well now I have no horn and airbag warning failure.:confused: I've not disturbed any known wires, all looks ok. I've looked at threads and the word clock spring pops up. Any ideas. Most threads don't seem to cover my issues.... I have looked. Regards

Hi,
the clock spring is the "flexible wiring" ,
for the devices mounted onto the steering wheel..,
horn, audio / bluetooth, airbag too.

so - did you change the column.. or just the motor..??

did the wheel get taken off,
or did you just work below it..??

Hi, changed the complete steering motor assembly. Un bolted the steering column top and bottom. Few plastic surrounds then whole steering wheel and stalks etc... all slide off as one unit. The steering wheel airbag etc... stays on the top part of the shaft. Then you can access the steering unit and replace. Like I said can't see I've disturbed any obvious wires only thin I can think of is if the steering wheel has turned more than it should and damaged the clock spring? I've had a punto and an Alfa over the years and the airbag light has come on and the horn stopped working due to wires under the seat? Think I might get the garage to check and see what it brings up....any other ideas appreciated
