Good morning Everyone

I just wanted to introduce myself I am Dave from Porthcawl in South Wales UK.

Currently getting my daughters 2017 Fiat 500 1.2 ready for sale as she has moved to London.

I love these types of forum they great, many years ago I used to have an old free lander I was constantly fixing and the forums were brilliant and I am sure this one will also be a mountain of good information.

Kind regards

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome from me too.

Hope all goes well with your preparations. Is it serious mechanical stuff or cosmetic "prettying up"?

As many on here will know my daughter and younger boy learned to drive in Mk1 Pandas - at the time we couldn't find anything cheaper to insure for her. That car was a 750 with points type ignition! She went on to replace it with a newer one before going on to a Suzuki Swift (good car but rusted out in the end) but my boy couldn't live with the lack of "street cred" and bought an early Escort (which needed front suspension lower arms every year to pass it's MOT). As they moved on the Pandas became second cars for my Mrs and me as they are unbeatable for nipping around the city and very cheap and easy to keep running. We've had a panda in the family fleet ever since - so for the last 40 years or so I guess. In fact the Panda in my avatar picture was his - a Panda Parade.

I thought I knew a lot about Pandas until I started participating in this forum but I was wrong. The stuff I've learned from the lovely people on here must have at least doubled my knowledge base and all from a smashing crowd of friendly people who seem always to have something interesting to say.

Good luck with moving your daughter's 500 on to it's new owner

Kind regards
Jock

We have a large pin board on the back of our downstairs loo door where we pin up any "funny" Christmas/birthday/mothers and fathers day cards. It's a source of much merriment for all who visit. There's a particularly good one there which covers the subject of "relying on Dad". Not at home just now but I'll try to remember to post a picture of it some time.
