Hi all,

Our multi is making a really annoying knocking/grinding noise from (it seems) the front left wheel area. It only seems to do it under acceleration but doesn't seem to be from the engine or gearbox. At first I thought it was something loose but then realised it didn't do it if I was engine braking...

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Scott

does it do it when you turn the steering wheel and over pot holes or speed bumps , take it on a car park and do a couple orso drives round lock to lock and see if it still happens and jack the front end up then spin the wheel round it should go round smoothly , the knocking maybe the drop link but the grinding noise could be bearings i am no qualified mechanic but i do do all my own repairs , let us know what you find

Your thinking drive shafts so would I but arb will be the main failer withal be a wishbone all common multipla faults that most owners fall for

Hmmm - Just a quick update: Visited the mother-in-law the other day and whilst driving *down* this big old hill I noticed that the knocking/grinding didn't occur, even under acceleration. As soon as I levelled out - back it came.

Does that shed any light on the matter?

Regards,

Scott
