Its the uno that is produced for the south american market, it is not available in europe.

Quite basic i belive and not very expensive.

How on earth do they make a car and sell it for a profit for £3,200.00. I wonder if they give discounts and a 3 year warranty.

Knowing the South African market... the chances of the "new" Uno reaching our shores are quite good. What I found most interesting about it is where the spare wheel is located............ in the ENGINE BAY !!!

This is where it is located in the old panda i think

M@nticore's red uno. He's my brother and I bought the car from him. He has started building up his 1400 uno...

The Brazilian Uno was always different to the rest-of-the-world Uno, being based mainly on the special version of the 127 developed for Brazil with the 1050cc engine. The Citivan (or Penny) - a sort of Uno estate - has 127-derived rear suspension.

The spare wheel under the bonnet was always a Brazilian feature (though you have to remember the FIAT 128 had it there as well...)

The bodyshell is identifiable by the clamshell bonnet (folded over at the sides). Although the slimmer headlights on late 80's models may look like an Uno Mk2, they are not the same and the bodyshell always remained different. It looks like the Nuovo Mille is a development of the Brazilian Uno, though it appears to now have a FIRE engine?

Indeed, the brazilian Uno and its derivatives, the Fiorino (pickup - Furgone - Panorama) and the Duna/Weekend (or Premio) are all based on the brazilian 127 (and 147 later). Instead of importing (or making) the mk2 version of the Uno which was offered in all other countries from 1992 IIRC, Brazil and Argentina continued producing the mk1 version which was given a facelift (the narrower grille and front lights). This affected the whole group of Uno (Fiorino, Duna etc) and later on the interior (incl. the dashboard) of the mk2 european version was added instead of the old one.

I don't know whether the Fiorino was imported in England but if it did, it's nice for the mk1 Uno owners to try and find the front grille and the lights of the mk2 Fiorino and put them on their Unos. It will look very nice IMO.

In my cardomain page you will find pics of the european and south american versions of the Uno, Duna and Fiorino so you can see for yourself the differences. Also, if you visit clubdelfiat.com.ar (hope you don't take this as an advertisement) you will get the chance to see more variations of Fiat cars and many models that weren't imported in Europe (or at least in the UK).
