Since I am about to pick the car up tomorrow thought I would come on here and say hi and ask a few questions so I am armed with a little bit of knowledge about these.

Well I have just picked up an old bus lol, a 1998 ulysse 1.9td as a second car, other car being a golf mk4, I have owned a 1996/7 806 petrol a few years back and boy was it problematic lol, but I liked its layout and the sliding doors hence the fiat.

It has a few issues that I know off, first brake warning light is on since the current owner changed the pads last august, one of the rear doors does not function been told it may be a clip or something like they never bothered to sort it, since we are in Cornwall and have been battered with rain and wind their is water in the passenger footwell, my guess is pollen filter, and also an unchanged glow plug due to inaccessibility.

Is their anything that would cause these major problems that needs to be looked at before I actually pay for it?

Are these vehicles odb compliant or not at all, as I have an obd2 cable for the laptop.

Hopefully I will have a decent working car tomorrow but we will see

welcome to the forun!
You will need lexia software/reader for the OBD
as for the water check the run off pipes for the winscreen/wipers (collection panel/grill beneath the windscreen)aren't blocked/disconnected one on each side.

Cheers for the welcome, is that any version of the lexia software or and old version, ok will have a look under the bonnet when I go to collect, cheers for the advice

Eurovan1's suffer from water leaking in on the side doors, ball joints and sticky back brakes.

Early ones were fitted with 8valve engines and the very last aprox 05+ have the 16v engines as used in the eurovan2's

I doubt water is coming in from the pollen filter, more likely to be dribbling in from a windscreen corner ( badly fitted replacement screen for example) or a leaking heater matrix.

Well went and collected the car/van, it has a lot of water in the carpet to the extent that you can see it when you press down on the carpet lightly, also owner says it's coming from the passenger side from behind the glove box.

The orange brake light illuminates on the dash when you press the pedal Is that a pressure sensor or the pad wear indicator, the pads seem to be relatively newish,

Pulls really well and was happy on the journey back, no other warning lights at all. Clutch is heavy tho so might need a new cable

A lot better than the old 2.0 petrol 806 we owned

If it only comes on when pressing brake then odds are its related to the wear sensors! check pads are ok and check pad sensor lead wires for rubbing/shorting.

Or if it is on all the time it could also be low level brake fluid, especially if the p.o. didn't top it up after bleeding the calliper.
