Hi I am new to this forum but not to Fiat. I am a qualified mechanic with fifteen years experience of working on Fiats but that was over a decade ago so I am not up with some of the more modern stuff. I worked on everthing from the 127/128 days through to Punto/Tipo/Tempra era. I just logged on to the site to see if I could find any info on the tailgate locking/unlocking procedure on my newly aquired 05 Stilo 1.6 Active AC MW.
I really like this car as I like most Fiats, they really do have character, something sadly missing with a lot of modern cars.
From all I have read I think the micro switch in the tailgate handle is not working as the boot opens fine with the remote key. Could be this really cold weather though, so I will wait until it warms up before i investigate further. I will keep you posted on my findings.

have you tried pressing the unlock button twice ??? i think mine used to do that before i changed in on the dash settings. i think mine used to need pressing twice but i wouldn't put money on it.

i have this problem on my MW, but i had my remote key stolen so now i have to climb through and open from the inside. O the joys of stilo ownership lol.
Pretty sure my car just has some bad earths on it tbh, as things keep stopping working and then starting again at random.

Anyways, good luck with it and welcome to FF, sound like you may be a useful guy to know lol
