Hey every1,
just joined this forum and Im thinkin bout buying a Fiat Stilo....well I put a deposit down yesterday. gona cost me 4K for a 52 plate with 28k on the clock, its a fiat stilo active 1.2. Just wonderin is this a fair price and if anyone could give me some tips on how to make it look more sporty.
Also of anyone wants to provide ne advice bout thew stilos or wheres best to buy stuff for it....feel free to let me kno.

Cheers

Ali

Welcome to the forum mate.

I dont know much about the Stilo tbh but from what I have seen the 1.2 is a good motor. I have driven one once and it seemed nice to drive.

The price seems good for the mileage but I would see if you can get them down a bit because there is always room to bargain.

Also I have heard that the 52 plate models are prone to a few niggling electrical problems because they were the first lot of Stilos for us to see over here. Nothing major though from what I have heard.

It doesnt take much to get the Stilo looking sporty, I would lower it, fit some 17" Abarth wheels and Abarth skirts and away you go in style

Anyway thats just my bit of info, hope it helps.

Cheers

Si

hi there, your better to post in the stilo section as some of them are introverts and dont like to leave there little zone :)

Ha Ha LMAO some of us but not all of us :p

Welcome to you my friend (y) cant think of a better car you could buy to be honest cos if its style charisma and pure power then there's a stilo in the range for you :D Custard has made a point though and for a more in depth info go to the stilo section and there we can give you a big stilo MASSIVE Welcome :slayer:

Welcome, stilo is a nice car ;)

but if u aint bothered about much power yeh a 1.2 is alright, just with the stilo being quite big and heavy as said a 1.2 is more suited with a punto, but for insurance purposes if you want the 1.2 go for it :slayer:

The 1.2 is not under powered it has 80BHP ask the owners who own them they will tell you what a nippy motor it is :bang:

80 bhp is not a lot in such a big car though, i read a lot of posts from 1.2 owners who have said they wish it had a bit more go.

Have a check on how many BHP the peugeot 307 has there are lots of big cars out there with less than 80 BHP

Firstly, welcome to Ali.
Go with the Stilo, OK it's a 1.2 and 'maybe' a little underpowered depending on how you want to drive. If getting to work in the traffic allows any car to go any faster then please let me know. Cheap to run, cheap to own, cheap to insure and a looker (the car phil:devil: ). 4k sounds OK, but is that from a dealer who are providing warranty ;) or is it private with no warranty :( .

This was the preface lift model, Fiat changed from the 1.2 to a 1.4 to give a little more power. Strange that only the 1.2 has a 6 speed box. Your model year comes with the ski slot in the back seat, 12v power supply in rear and a few other things that Fiat did away with on their cost cutting exercise of the face lift. Good luck and keep us informed.

Phil,
There is only one road out of Bristol and that's the M32, this only has 3 junctions so how could Steve get lost? As you say, over the bridge M48 fast as you like and always quiet. (y)

Another Steve
Another Stilo owner (actually 2 1.6 dynamic in broom yellow and a Selespeed in crystal green)

Well it was He that said to me "I will follow you" or I will get lost  we were at a Punto sports meet representing Fiat forum and it was at Cribs Causway and there were a lot of junctions and roundabouts so it was do I go left or right time decisions decisions we were no where near the M32 but on the M5 if we had been on the M32 I would have called in to see my sis Hi SIS
