Hi Steve & Welcome to The Fiat Forum.

When was the car last serviced? I'd start there with a good Service if the history doesnt show it, then think about the driving circumstances... city... town... long or short trips, loaded or empty etc. Make sure the tyre pressures are right too. 31 miles to £10 is 16 MPG... are you sure?

If none of the above apply, check the brakes for binding... is the 2.0S a petrol or diesel by the way?

Thanks for the quick reply,
the car is a petrol 2.0s,serviced and mot last week.oil, filters, plugs, new exhaust, new tyres,if the car was acting up in anyway i could explain the fuel usage,i clocked up 31 mile round town for 10 pound of petrol.
30 to 40 mph,i know my way round most engines but i think this one needs plugging in to a diagnostic,as i said it drives and feels like new so im stumped.
in the book it says 25/28 round town per gallon and 30 plus on a run,it is a r reg so am i hoping for to much.
thanks again and any info would be great..............steve
