Hi all, discovering the 'pleasures' of cinq ownership, had the following done in the last 3 months:
New clutch cable + release bearing
Release of seized back brake
New rear trailing arm to replace the knocking from bushes
And after all that, the bloody thing still makes a noise! Basically it's from the rear again, but it's more of a grinding/springing noise than the bumpbumpbump of worn bushes, and less loud than worn bushes. Tends to be more pronounced when turning right.
Any ideas? Hopefully it's nice & cheap as I got ramped by local garage in replacing trailing arm, after being insistent that it was my shocks at fault, they charged £240 P+L for trailing arm & off road for the week.
Thanks for your help, the forum rocks!

P.S. when without my baby I rented the Merc A Class from Easycar, highly recommended if you are doing low mileage - they didnt mind me bring the car back minus a hubcap! BTW I honestly think my basic Cinq has more spot-on handling than the German, god I missed my car..
I can see the top of my car in the car park...
