Hi,
I'm a new member of the forum and would like some advice on fitting a replacement radio, please.
Couple of questions.
My daughter would like a DAB radio in her 2007 Panda 1.2 Dynamic and so we have bought her a Pure Highway H260DBi unit to replace the factory-fitted Blaupunkt double-din kit. However, the connections appear to be different. There are two plugs in the wiring harness: one blocky grey unit, which plugs easily into the back of the new radio, and then a yellow/green/blue plug for which there is no corresponding socket on the Pure radio, although it was plugged in to the Blaupunkt.
I have connected the grey plug, but the radio will only turn on with the ignition key turned to the first stop: the original radio could be turned on without needing to use the key at all.
According to the Autoleads website, the car does not require a wiring harness adapter. So what am I supposed to do with the multi-coloured plug? My concern is that when the radio is turned on and tuned for the first time, will it then forget its tuning when the ignition is turned off? (Haven't had a chance to test that as I also needed to obtain an ISO/DIN antenna adaptor and now it's too dark outside!).
Second question (shorter!). What is the best way to channel the wiring for the remote microphone (Bluetooth enabled head unit) and the digital antenna. The antenna is a windscreen mounted unit, so the wiring has to pass under the dashboard and trim.
Sorry to ask awkward questions on my first posting, but I hope someone here will be able to help.
Many thanks.
