Hi all,
I have just joined up and would like to say hello.
My name is Chris and I have just bought a Brava on an X plate with 51,000 miles on...was owned by an old guy that didn't go far:)
I run a Volvo V70 as my main car but wanted a second small car for all those stupid miles that I need to do like work and shopping trips.
It is like New inside and very clean outside with only a couple of small niggles.
1, N/S/R window winder inoperative
2, Very slight blow on exhaust.
3, Door handles look like they have lost a plastic/rubber coating.
4, Radio works when it wants.
I do have a radio fascia on order that allows me to fit a normal shaped radio.
No doubt I will be along soon with a daft question or three...
Thanks,
Chris.

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for your reply, it is the 1243cc...so I guess that would be rounded down to 1.2
I might just go for the cool looking metal door handles.
Cheers,
Chris.

that's the most common engine 12 Valve I recall,

keep an eye on coolant levels, and consider a cambelt kit at some point in time..,
Adrian Bravo did the guide.. I'm not sure if the handles still suffer from the random failures that the 500 section still sees..??

Thanks for the advice Charlie, I will look into cambelt kits soon.

Cheers,
Chris.

Welcome to the forum Chris. That engine is the more modern 1242cc 16 valve engine. Far better than the 1370cc 1.4 12 valve

Thanks for the welcome Adrian, the engine sounds really sweet and ticks over rock solid.
It is so split clean I don't think I have ever seen a cheap second hand car as clean...it even has the toolkit on top of the spacesaver wheel complete! and is super smooth and light to drive compared to my V70 Tank.
Cheers,
Chris.
