Punto (Mk2/2b) New ignition barrel

Hi I have endless problems with my 00 fiat punto the latest one being the key broke in the ignition, I bought an ignition set for electric windows from a broker and got a local guy to change it, the broker told me all that was required was to take the unit off and put the new one in, the local guy done this and now the clock is flashing, the speedo is going up to 120kpm, the engine management light is staying on and the clock won't stop flashing, I have spent a fortune on this car already so if there's anything I can manage to fix myself I will give it a go. Any ideas anyone? And do you think its still safe to drive?

No speedo = mot failure
None mot car is kinda unsafe

Buy the sounds if it the bloke has fitted a 2nd hand or virgin ecu which isnt communicating with the dash

Same happens if u fit the upgraded dash in there
You need a procedure called proxy alignment doing this will get the car talking correctly to all its bits
