Hi Im new to this forum, i recently got myself a Mk1 1.2 S60 Punto, great little car but i want to do a few things to it (mods) but nothing to much e.g body kits.

I was thinking of,

Colour Coding the Bumpers
Removing badges and door strips
Giving the bonnet the rust look
Tinting windows
Lowering between 45 and 60mm
Getting some lovely 15" deep dish wheels.

What does people think?

Well I used to be into the big body kits everything like that but I've calmed down lot since then now I'm into the rat race type style I've saw a few cars round here like that.

i want to do that but don't have a clue of what i could do to a 1.2 to make it quicker haha

i dont really want to drop another engine into it, but ive asked about remapping it but it would only add 14bhp

only way to do that on one of these is to put a new chip in, they aren't mappable really..

But i would say 14bhp might not sound like alot to you but 14 is a significant increase on 60bhp, it is infact if you think about it 25% more power so would be very noticeable difference.

Best place to start on any car is a decent induction kit & exhaust really. And then better suspension a brakes make a huge difference on how quickly you can drive and are a must before you begin making any car quick. But again this all depends on how much you want to pay.

well im thinking about lowering my car so thats the suspension sorted, brakes are pretty decent but could do with a upgrade.

How much are the chips?

I wouldn't worry about the chip, no chip is gonna give you 14bhp on a P60, someones been talking porkies at you..

If i was you i'd get some lowering springs (& sports shocks if budget allows) first. Keep your eyes peeled for a 2nd hand 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, couple that to a decent exhaut & fit an induction kit. That will make the car rev more feely, free up a few spare horses. Fit some bigger wheels along with good tyres to allow for PuntoGT brake upgrade at front at least, need to be 14" or bigger - but remember bigger wheels will effect acceleration detrimentally so i wouldn't go any larger than 15" myself unless you start making alot more power.

From there you really would have to decide how far and what route you want to take. There's too many possibilities for me to tell you what to do.

Browse some of the threads and get some ideas, report back with any questions you have ;)
