hey would like to know if anyone can help!
i just bought a carstyling brakeshift for my n reg punto 55 and would like to know if anyone has an idea how to get previous one off??

Ok here goes. This is a very difficult subject on a punto but heres what you need to do. Check that the original button will fit through the end of the new handbrake lever as punto handbrake buttons are slightly larger than other cars. Firstly get a sharp stanley knife and start hacking away along the top of the handbrake i found it easier to start at the bottom near the gator and work towards the button. Be extremely careful around the button as you have to keep the old button on. You will have to sprise the old handle cover using a screw driver but hold the button firmly in place as there is a spring which will fall out if the button drops down. Once you have removed the handle use some insolation tape to wrap around the metal hanbrake and go around with this a few times this will hold the plastic strip attached to the button and stop it falling down and losing the spring. slide on the new handbrake cover and tighten the screws. If you need any more info just ask. here a pic of mine just to show it is possible you can oly see a bit on the bottom right hand corner and the gear lever :)

I think it might be a cover for your original button or it could be a replacement im not sure, if it is a replacem, ent im not sure how you would remove the old one, it might be worth asking the supplier
