Grande Punto New Grande Punto.

Introduction

Bought my new car Wednesday, love it! Was going to go for C2 VTS, though my mind soon changed the second I sat in it.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what I can do with regards to tints etc?

I want to avoid the chavy look (like my old corsa) but do want to modfy it.

Black mirrors? How dark should I get tints? Any ideas would be great! :D

And the sun's back out and so are the swirl marks. They look ridiculous, ruins the car. Needs claying again already too. And my bumper is lower on one side because it wasn't refitted properly. Oh and I need a new timing belt (overdue). Did I mention there's a knocking noise (probably drop links) but then again i've not checked that either. Brakes need cleaning, they're grinding to high heaven. That, and the fact that my handbrake is loose. Oh and when I went to check the drop links, i scratched my wheels with the bolt tool thing. ****, did I mention I have a huge chip on my alloy too?

At the minute, I could quite happily get rid and get something older that will probably fall to bits but at least the bumper will be straight. I need some motivation to sort the car out but i feel i'v spent far too much for what, a car that's lowered with refurbed wheels and a splitter.

Paint isn't great. After claying and machine polishing it looks ok, but the swirls are unbelivable and the faded bumper looks ****. I wish they made cars with the same paint as years ago. Hate this thin stuff, can't tcut it!!!!!!

hmm. what was product was used when it got Mopped? and was the paint work sealed after, Paint restore > Pollish > sealant (wax or gloss protection)

I know what you mean though! we've got a Sei Abarth with the 'newer type' paint always fades after a while, but this was the result from the weekend detail i did,

It seems to be holding at the moment which is good, I'm planning on giving it a quick once with some QD today :)

as for your Timing belt kit for your engine, I would say from £170 - 230 but thats a rough guess from what we charge for VW's (lupo) ....

you could always try the 'dye' pollish? turtlewax do one called colour magic i believe

I've got this one, yet to give it a try though haha, I bought it as part of the Halfords 3 for 2 and you get a chipstick too :)

I went for light red, I presume our cars are light red?

The **** you on about man?

Now now :D

I see where your coming from Sam. Seemed random to me, but he was responding to your post from (let me check) 4 weeks ago / page 48. Confusing as you didn't use the 'Quote' button at the bottom of each post JimbbobW1977. That would have made it instantly understandable what you were on about, as it did come across as 'WTF' as it is (y)

All good (y)
