Grande Punto New Grande Punto.

Introduction

Bought my new car Wednesday, love it! Was going to go for C2 VTS, though my mind soon changed the second I sat in it.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what I can do with regards to tints etc?

I want to avoid the chavy look (like my old corsa) but do want to modfy it.

Black mirrors? How dark should I get tints? Any ideas would be great! :D

give it a good shake, it should not have any play in it. if it does, you may be able to hear it 'knocking'
also, if you can take the weight of the hub so the suspension is at 'riding' height and check the drop links again :)

not a GP picture but you get the idea, I've arrowed what you need to check

@SJB1985 no mate not booked in, it willl take me a good few months before I do ;) hate spending money on the car! gonna check the drop links myself first.

@Ryaaan knocking noises often travel round the car so sometimes its hard to find the source! I know this all too well!

Anyone know if second hand spacers are ok to use? I know this seems silly but I thought second hand ones might have wear on or something, I know nothing about spacers

another cause of a 'traveling' knock could be your exhaust knocking... the hangers that exhausts have do have a habit of knocking on the underside of car. worth checking :)

Well I cant decide on the spacers but for god sake I hate taking wheels on and off!!

Is there a technique to lining it up whilst holding the wheel aswell?!! And the fiat jack is pathetic, it's bent whilst lifting the car.

Also, today proved how delicate painted wheels are! Al I had to do was breath on them and a bit came off! God sake. Now the inside of the bolt part has nice silver circles where the wrench was.

Anyway, I couldn't get the spacers to fit flush so I can't decide. Any tips anyone?

Another thing, my coils are seriously rusty. Is this bad?

are they hubcentric? they should line up flush...

they may have seized up haha. I wouldn't worrie too much though. if you need to adjust them just get some plus gas on them (y)

TheSilverFox has his rears spaced 20mm iirc, was chatting to him about it at MITCar last year. Looks really classy IMO. Well worth it, and certainly something i'm considering doing soon if i can find some hubcentrics cheap enough second hand. His isn't lowered either, and still looks great. So on coils, will only help to improve the stance!

Quite correct pal! 20mm each side on rears. 20mm fills the arch spot on, any more and the wheel would come outside the bodywork. Mine isn't lowered but I would be hesitant to lower with 20mm's on due to the fact that on the odd time I have had passengers in the back they have rubbed on speedbumps etc, lowering + spacers would be a killer though I feel!
