when will the new gps hit the dealers, am wanting to haggle them for a good deal

They're due mid-to-end of July - but no reason why you can't start haggling now if you're wanting a new one, as it's likely it would be a factoy order anyway unless you're not picky over the colour and spec?

My dealer told me the factory was shutting at the end of June to re-tool for the series 2 so I reckon if you factory ordered a series 2 soon you'd be in it by late August ish...

I was initially told end of July after ordering mine at the start of June - but I just received an updated order form today with all my options included, and it states it as being a "58" plate - so maybe early September now :(

Ordered mine from MotorProvider as they're just down the road from me.

I've heard good things about Autofinders though - and if I were buying one now, would get it through them instead.

Paying 11k for a new 1.9MJet in the Special Solid Exotica Red, with Climate Control, the alternative two-tone wheels, tinted windows and chrome mirrors, but could've got it for about 400 quid less through Autofinders. Ah well :(

that is a very good price, and still nearly 4k off the dealer price, will have to have a look to see what prices they have

Yeah, I can live with that price - but as I said in another thread, I actually had 2 Fiat dealers match their price (or extremely close anyway - think they came out with £10200 for a series 1 at the time), but then they try and tie you into their finance deals which are horrendously overpriced.

Just annoys me how you can sit there and they won't budge below 13k, but then mention one of the broker sites and they can suddenly knock another 3k off the list price. Bonkers...

i have been given a 3 month waiting on my series 2 and that was ordered last friday

man thats a long wait, on the plus side would give me time to finish the last payments on my existing car and save more money towards the deposit, thinks will have to order 1 quickly i suppose!:(

Well FIAT were wanting to charge £25 per month more than the best personal loans on moneysupermarket.com, and then MotorProvider came in £10 per month less than those! So yeah, I'm happy with the finance deal they offered ;)

Over three years, the banks came in £900 cheaper than FIAT, and then Motorprovider came in a further £360 cheaper than the banks - but in all honesty, I'd imagine most brokers or indepentent car dealers should be bale to do similar finance deals.

If they're anything like the two I went to, they'll purposely avoid talking about how much it would be costing you in the long run - but instead try and find out what your monthly budget is, then try and make their deal fit into that structure - even if in reality it would end up being way more expensive.

As you already said though - as long as you're prepared to walk away then you'll be fine. I walked away, only for them to ring me back saying they'd then exactly match the broker deal - although when I got there it was obviously just another ploy to get me talking, as they weren't going to match the finance...

With the ongoing credit crunch and their desperation to sell, you really should be holding all the aces :)
