new front door speakers needed

hey this is my first post, just found the forum.
i'm looking to buy some new front door speakers, i do not know, however, what size i need and what ones to go for. i have a feeling they are 17cm and i have a budget of only £20-£40. does anyone have any good suggestions as to wht to get (possibly 50 quid) and could any one confirm the size of them, i have an x reg punto mia.

i have infinity 96030i 6x9's if that makes any difference

i would appreciate any help whatsoever cheers

You're right 17cm speakers will fit, but the standard factory ones are 16.5cm. You have to be careful with the depth of the speakers you buy, when I bought some new ones I didnt bother looking at the mounting depth and was lucky they fit in.

The Sony speakers I bought had a depth of 47mm and these did fit so use it as a guide I dont rate Sony speakers, so try and avoid them if possible.

Go for makes like Alpine, Infinity, Vibe etc........

if you require a little bit extra depth, then speaker pods are your best bet

i have fitted infinity comps in the front of mine using speaker pods

What's involved in fitting speaker pods? I've got a Mia too and am lokoing to do the same. I also want to fit some rears, what size do I need to fit in the standard mounts?

the speaker pods are very easy to fit

remove original grill
unscrew speaker
unscrew original speaker pod
replace with new speaker pod
replace speaker
finish off with new grill

the rear speakers are 4" / 10cms , may need 'tweeking' to fit though, i.e. snipping or bending screw holes
