Hi - I just passed my test a month or so ago and bought a Punto - however, compared to the diesal skoda felicia i learnt in it is so different. Apart from stalling frequently, i find it hard to change up to 5th gear and then back to 4th - wish is really unnerving on the motorway!!! Does anyone have any tips - i never had these problems when learning to drive and although i really love my new car, i'm starting to feel nervous about driving it. Thanx very much in advance.:I

my mums got a punto n she loves it........when i drive it i find it hard 2 get into 5th but aparently acording to my mum its all in how u like to move ya gear stick!

just give it some time. I learnt in a corsa and drove arrounbd in my sisters 106. they were similar in the way the gear stick was but the acceleration pedal was completly different... the 106s is far less sensetive and so i stalled a bit at first... my Uno (which i just bought about 3 weeks ago) is simple to drive but the 4th-5th is a little hard sometimes compared to the 106 and corsa... but im used to it now.

just keep practicing on the motorway just stay in the slow lane until you get used to changing the gears... or stay off the motorway completly

U will stall it as its a diferent car and diesels r harder 2 stall anyway. my car hates chaging 2nd 2 1st if u doing anymore than 5 mph as 4 motorway do wot bushboy said

Just take it easy and get used to the car - 99% of driving is knowing how your own car does things. A little more practise and you'll be fine - if you can relax it makes things seem easier too.
