Hi all,
I have just upgraded my 1996 bravo 1.4sx to a 1999 Td100 sx. Full service history, 60k T&T for £1950.

I have several questions about the new car.

1. It has a different coloured and tatty interior, are the interior panels (door cards, dash panels etc) interchangable between my old car and new one? Does the dash come out easilly?

2. What brand and type of oil should i use?
(i always used magnatec on the old one, is there something better that i should use for the diesel?)

3. It currently has a K&N air filter fitted, what other tuning options are there and whats the costs/improvements?

4. It doesnt have an alarm or remote central locking, has anyone ever fitted a cheap alarm with remote locking function and managed to get them to talk to the fiat central locking?

Cheers for any help

The MkII dash and MkI dash are different designs. However, I would 'think' (not certain) that the fittings would be the same.

Door cards - check for yourself. They may be different if you had manual windows in one and electric in the other.

Selenia (from fiat dealer)

Speak to Nige at http://www.angeltuning.co.uk Vast improvements on diesel models

I have a brand new fiat alarm for sale (boxed). However, it does not interface with central locking./ A seperate keyfob would be required. Alarm £40 for boo member - £48 non member. (+£3p&p)

1. All door cards and seats interior are interchangable between all the Bravo range. Do if you wanna swap interiors over you'll have no problem. Regarding the dash, its not difficult, get the haynes helps alot, but you will need to remove the steering wheel. Also ask Daz for help because he's removed his dash completely.

2. Use Selenia Diesel Oil from Fiat. Try here www.shop4parts.co.uk sell the oil cheaper than any Fiat Dealership.

3. You can try www.angeltuning.co.uk for some more performance ideas. Works best with JTD cars.

4. Any good alarm can be connected to the central locking on the Fiat. My old car had the Fiat Alarm removed and a new one installed.

and biggest tip as a TD100 owner myself, check the service history if the cambelt has been done, people tend to leave it late on the diesels for some reason, if it aint been done, get it done before everything else...

the 1.4 did not have anything electric. (goodness knows how it starts) but seriously, its somehting to watch if your deisel has electric windows and mirrors.
