Hi All,

I own 2007 a Fiat Bravo 1.9, 8 valve mjet diesel,

I have only owned the car for about two weeks,

Can anyone give me any idea of what I should expect from the fuel consumption?

When I select the setting for displaying the fuel consumption I never seem to get above 44 mpg?

I have to admit I have not done a really long run in the car, but today I travelled up and down the A27 (10miles there 10 miles back) and I still only got to 44 mpg?

I love the car, but think I should be getting more mpg!

All depends how you drive it. I've got the same engine, and I get about 48mpg overall, that's 15500 miles in 18 months. The best I get from a tank is about 50mpg, and the worst about 46mpg, loaded with a roof box! Worse in winter than summer. You need to calculate from the actual miles you get out of a fill up to be accurate. Don't rely on the trip computer to be accurate.

if my 150 drops below 48mpg average i get worried.... and that sometimes includes short trips of a few miles... as well as my commute of 10 miles to work.. and then from work... and then motorway trips... i usually see around 50ish plus...

and this is from a 150 and i dont drive like driving mrs daisy ;)

Hi I have a 57 plate 120 multijet with 41000 on the clock. Mine averages around 47 mpg and thats with mainly dual carriageway driving although I do put my foot down.

I have the 1.6l 120 Multijet and get an average of about 45mpg.

Cold weather and my commute which is includes a 5 min traffic jam and urban traffic for 2 miles then uphill on a motorway/duel carriageway for 15 miles all the way in the morning doesn't help, and drags me down to 40mpg-ish, but I get the 50-55mpg on the way back down, if I stick to below 60mph I can get up to 60mpg.

Stated economy is usually worse in real life. My previous diesel got 50mpg average and was smaller and less powerful- needless to say it should have been nearer 60mpg too.

According to eco:drive which does include my short runs and snow travel this year I get 45.0mpg since 11 December. If you isolate my 50mile runs to Edinburgh it jumps to an average of 60mpg, even with other journeys around it.

Hi, Thanks to all of you that replied to my question, very helpfull!!

On a continuing subject, I still cant get much more than 42 mpg?
The car has 17" alloys would this make a difference?

I dont drive the car hard, but I do feel like some of you have said the cold
weather could be playing a part,

Is it worth re-setting the trip computer? I had this with a Renault Megane I had a new battery fitted, this zero,d the trip computer and after that I got better fuel economy readings?

I still need to do a good run in the car to get the best readings.
I am now trying the "eco drive" to see if this shows better results.

Once again Thanks for your replys, :)
