The diesel Pla's are very forgiving of batteries, hardly any 'parasitic 'leakage in the design and for example hardly ever need heater plugs in the winter. My rule for 50 years with any car petrol or diesel has always been buy a replacement with +10 [ish] more CCA than the recommended size. You don't want too much more Ah than the alternator can deliver, Id choose a
60 / 600 rather than a 45 / 400 - but that's just my choice.
My current drive is a Voyager - not a Pla and I have a 80 / 800 battery. Chrysler for example recommend 600CCA for my 2.8 CRD and 600 CCA in the UK is a laughable and total waste of time in the cold weather, so don't always take what makers advise as fact. In your case using a diesel spec battery on a petrol should give you plenty of leeway
Best of luck in your choice angelajoy1961
