New Arrivals: MK1 Clipper & MK2 Jetta

Introduction

Well I know theyre not Fiats but this is Members Motors so i thought id show off my non-fiats:

Last month i got this Extremely clean VW Jetta MK2, theyre hard to come by now and i picked it up for a nice price, its a 1991 model, one of the last produced. 1.6 litre, completely standard with apparently very sought after Rim covers, GTi velour interior, big bumpers, not really much spectacular about it other than its not been molested.. I used to have a Black 1990 1.6 which i done up a bit but had to sell it unfortunately and miss it! Pics:

Upgraded to Weber carb, BBS 14" Alloys, Automatic Box (so i can get my mum to insure it till October when my insurance is up lol) Loads of new bits in engine bay as it had a fault cutting out so previous owner replaced near on everything til he solved the problem, no rust at all, Good hood, Wolfsburg steering wheel.. Not sure what i want to do to it, got a quote for £895 when i have 1yrs NCB under my belt (Oct). Or sell it now (seaside town+start of hot summer+oldskool convertible=top money) and theres a 1.5 in the paper for £2.5k at the mo, and a GTi for £1900!

If i keep it i might go for a debadged 4/2 light grill and dark smoke/red rear lights, and maybe redo the wheels with black centres to match the Abarth ;)

Views/Opinions please!

Craig
yea theres a full 60mm suspension kit in the paper for £60 and i dont want to put them on the clipper (insurance reasons lol) so maybe the Jetta could get some treatment! but then if i want to sell it now i should really keep it standard!

You should of put the 80mm kit on the convertible:cool:

Doesnt fit mate, different mounts afaik, same as the crystal lights on the mk2 they have different mounts so couldnt fit em :( And imo 80mm is far too low! it wouldnt get on my drive without scraping the sh*t out of the spoiler!

well a quick development.. Got some bits off Al (mkoneboy) and put them on after work.. the indicators were such a ****ing pig of a job, the holes wouldnt locate.. took me ages, even longer as neighbours asked me to go help lift some massive sheets of MDF!? The wheels are VW stamped BBS RA 15s, look so nice on there imo.. took the Ronals off as my mum wanted to drive the car at the weekend and she's used to 4x4s (kurb jumping :O) lol
..PICS.. (excuse the dirtyness!)
Jom front and clear indicators, number plate relocated

Need to get another bumper to smooth the wholes out of i know.. not sure whether to tint the m3 lights or tint my originals red and sell these on, i want it to stay sort of original, i also think it needs lowered as it sits a bit high at the front...

PS the indicators now work (dont do hazards), horn now works, it doesnt cut out after 30mins, speakers all work, just need to get the rear plate lights working and wiring should be all sorted, oh and i need a new fuse box as mine's ****e, fuses are all loose!

Thoughts?

Craig

My fav (i love ronals!)

Got some new rear lights which i'm going to play with, paint the orange bit red (or do it smoked black aswell as the red bit, and then smoke my side repeater's too, but i want to keep it looking original)

ronal pron makes me happy. thats a sexy cabby. i'd happily use it as a daily driver, but it deserves to be stored for future generations.
