Stilo Nero the Jtd Stilo

Introduction

Well since the 306 was missbehaveing , i think it ran out of cheese ...

so i got told about this Stilo for sale of a Good friend of mine and hes legend of a dad was selling it so had a test dive and said i want it if the insurance was cheep enough so a quick call and it was a massive £4 more .. so went for the car today the car will be used for my work horse (y)

pics
a little bit make me smile when im around town and people are stearing going thats nice , but then all the extra miles on her and how harsh it is on the coils and the noisy exh make it bad for going to homes ,,

BUT Nero is back alive (Y) will post pics of what was broken when i get home tonight

Wow blu73 that seems a low for a diesel?? My 2.4 gives me 38mpg at 60?

Ah at 60mph its does up into the 50's. 70-75mph it only manages 40-44mpg, although if i am on motorway i generally on cruise control and you can get better mpg if you drive it yourself. All that said, i don't drive economically often, when i had my stilo mw jtd (115) i left trip A for about 8k miles and according to that i had averaged only 34mpg - there was defo nothing wrong with the car, just my lead boots as we know the jtd can do much much better.

You're welcome dude ;) but what have you left me within my driveway?! Need to get rid of this train wreck of a car now :p

Right Guys ive had a massive problem with the stilo JTD, but sorta Tanks to the FF its all sorted ,

I pulled out of my junction got 500 yards up the road , Lost all throttle , , at the time i was going up to Glasgow to pick the parts up ( had to be there at a time ) so limped home and got in my dads car and went up

Spent most of yesterday trying to figure out what was wrong ,
Soon as the car was started it would Rev its self up to 1100 RPM , and you could Stamp on the Thottle and there would be no response

So plugged Fes in and and it brought lots of faults in ( WILL up date this , have a pic on the laptop )

Fes would not clear ANY of the Fatal Faults , as they were still active , Would clear them and then they would come stright back

seen on ff that it could of been the Silver box with the relays and fueses in behind the battery , , took all that to bits , cleaned up put back together ( there was one loose connection ) that was on the Fan fuse ( Green 30 Amp) , built back up and still had the same problem
so on to the forum and found out some guy had the same problem , and he found out that The Fuel rail sensor is dead so looked in to replacing that , but i stumbled accoss a post that it said that the AC is on the Same Curcut as the fuel rail sensot thing , and when the Ac or the pressure sensor fails they put a 5v Short around the curcut ( that must be the voltage that holds it at 1100rpm )

so this morning i poped up upplugged the Ac plug , Drivers side near the floor , theres a little plug , Fired her up and she was ticking over , at normal rate and she could now rev

Plugged in Fes , Cleared all faults , bobs your uncle fannys your aunt

So if you have a similar Problem you can Post on here and ill try and help , as i did a lot of looking in to it !!

Thanks Jamess

I havnt looked at how much a new sensor is yet , but i looked at how much a new Rail sensor is , and it depends on which one my car had it ranged from £120 or £140 + vat , havnt yet check the Ac sensor ,,

i dont think ive had Any refirant (sp) in the car since i got it , as when i got it i had a mate Read the car had it had that Ac error up on his snap on modus , , and on Fes it had Ac error
so will look in to getting a new sensor and get it filled up

hahaha James don't try hiding how close you sit to the steering wheel by adjusting the seat support right down! we can see where the seat belt plug is compaired to the other side :p

looks good though! but can I ask? you don't like the leather in your cinq because its cold or hot and sticky...and you've gone and got leather for the stilo?
