needs un-jamming

Someone got a tape jammed into the stereo in my punto - it's the original stereo that came with the car.
I've tried to get the tape out with various objects but it won't budge.

Would the local fiat dealership fix it do you think? and would they charge?

If not where would i go to get it un-jammed?? because i really can't be bothered to buy a new one...

cant you take the stero out and remove the casing and then you can see the obstruction and get to remove it that way?

Some tools, time and steady hand should do the job.

Theres no obstruction now. I tried to get it out again with some pliars and a kitchen knife, but now the eject button has stopped working goddamit.

Basicaly i want to know if i can get it done for free anywhere - unlikely - because otherwise labour costs et-cetera would mean that it would be more economical to just buy a new stereo...

hmmm i've decided to get a new one.
do all car stereos fit fiat punto's?

Also what is behind the original stereo that comes with the car (punto 2000) ?

The face of it seems really big, wouldn't there be a hole or a bare part left behind when it is taken out??

You neet to go to halfords or a decent car shop to buy a facia adaptor. This lets you fit a standard cd or tape player into your car, It will keep your dash nice and tidy. These adaptors usually cost around £10-£15.

If you went to your dealer or to an auto electrician they prob wouldnt want more than 10 or 20 quid to get the tape out...
