I have some JBL front speakers fitted finee, i have a fli amp aswell, just wondering whether to wire the amp up to the fronts, and buy anohter amp for a sub.

Also just wondering if i have 2 amps do i need a stereo with 2 line outs?

Thanks guyss!

def amp fronts if you can. Ideally you would want 2 sets of RCA's but you can use the line out of one amp to the other to daisy chain the signals.

Ok, so i can get away with having only only pre out!?

I still cant find any decent second hand HU's, think im going to wait until after xmas.

What sort of wiring kit will i need for amped fronts, and a amped sub ?

Thanks for all the help buddy :)

I depends on what power you are using. An autoleads 4 gauge one or knukonceptz 4 gauge with power and earth distribution blocks will do the Job. The distro blocks just split the 4 gauge t 2 8 gauge to your amps.

i have a fli 400s amp that i picked up with those JBL's would that be suitable ?

I am also intregued as i had tweeters in my car as standard, can i use those connections to connect more tweeters?

Im looking for some bass and a HU atm. cant find anything decent. its gakk!

theres no need for loads of tweeters especially standard ones. your better off seting it up and installing it properly. i would leave it as just using thetweeters that came with the components.

ill have a look at the specs of the amp.

Basically i got a bit trigger happy today, and ordered a sub, some speakers to replace the stock ones in the back, and a cheap wiring kit, oh and a kenwood HU, ill post the links below, for a complete novice to fit, is this hard?

I have a FLI 400s amp that im going to use to power the Audiobahn sub. (Sub below)

I was thinking of mounting the sub upside down, are there any limitations on space needed or the distance it has to be from the floor?

This will be running of this HU -

I have these installed in the front atm -

And have these to replace the stock speakers in the back -

And i have a basic amp wiring kit, can i use the wires that the stock speakers use to wire in the 2 sets of speakers that will be replacing the stock ones?, or do i nee another wiring kit?

I will be on the hunt for front comps, and a amp to power them once i get my next pay check, just to let you know, as i know co'axs are ****e!

Thanks

How do you plan to do this and i wouldnt recommend it persay but yeah i spose it it possible.
If you can do some drawings etc i can help you design it so it will work best as poss.

Yeah i can do some scribbles, im warning you though, they will be shocking.

The reason behind this is that i want to mount my sub & amp in the boot, but i hate those standard boxes they come in, i was also looking for access to the spare, and to not waste all the boot space.

I was thinking amp on the right hand side, mounted behind some perspex. Then having the sub on the left, cone downwards but about 3 - 4 inches off the bottom of the boot.

When i get home from work & Gym i will set to work drawing some plans up, oh btw my dad is a very skilled carpenter, so it can be complex, and he will still do it :)

Should be easy enough. I dont need super great drawings, just something that will illustrate what you want. I still dont see the necessity to have it facing down though. It will just mean the enclosure is unstable and you will loose sound through kinetic energy in the build. You want a good stable mount for it.

hope this does the job, i was toying with the sub facing down, and it being normally?

Ahh i do get what you mean. Me and my neighbour just built something pretty similar in his clio.
I will get some pics and see what you think.

Edit:- Damn you i just changed the design of my own car to have sub facing ass out. I was trying to avoid doing that lol.

I pretty much copied what someone else on here has done, :) its a sweet idea.

In theory i could aim my sub at the rear seats, it wouldnt matter ;) i would love to know if cone down has any benefits, i might try it and see if there is a difference ?

Yeah pics of your next door neightbours would be nice :)
