Hello, my son has just passed his driving test and I have give him my Fiat punto evo 2010. The passenger seat is broken and probably wouldn't pass its mot. I have looked for replacement seat but no luck. Is there any other seats that I could buy or use that would fit my Fiat. MW10OCY

Presumably only a similar age Punto with the same airbag system etc.
You say it is broken, do you mean upholstery or frame .
Recently I took my daughters 2010 Punto Evo passenger seat apart to replace the seat occupancy sensor.You have to disconnect the battery and wait half an hour roughly to safely disconnect the airbag wiring plugs under the seat, then I unbolted the four bolts and took the seat out, flipped it over and released the clips holding the fabric and foam etc. slide them off to access the sensor and replaced it all.
However if frame is cracked or broken, once stripped down most competent body shops could Mig weld and repair it, for you to reassemble, so you may only have to pay a small welding charge if you have done the stripping down if mechanically able.
Thank you for your reply, just a standard seat and no airbag, the release forward cable has snapped and having trouble finding another or replacing seat. Was wondering any other seat compatible to fit and replace. Next stop scrap merchants.
If s/h seat not available and if as you say no wiring to seat then personally I would take out seat turn it over and unclip the clips holding the cover in place and slide it up enough to access the broken part and either repair or replace that part.
If you say MOT would fail it anyway, then you have to take it out whether to repair or fit another seat.
With care, it is not a hard job, over the years I have done several.
