Need help with attaching rear view mirror

Hi Everyone

I had a question regarding re-attaching a rear view mirror to a windscreen on a Punto. I accidentally knocked it off with my elbow. Its the type that is connected directly to the windscreen. Is there any way it can be re-attached without buying a new windscreen?

Howdy!
Yep there is you get a type of sticky pad. I can't remember what its called maybe someone else who sees this will know.
I had the same problem with mine but a guy I know who works in a bodyshop gave me one of these pads and it's been on tight for over a year now with no problems.

I've try these pads and see how I go.

I think its poor design to mould a fastener for a rear view mirrior as part of the windscreen.

PS Regarding the name, this reflects the years of trouble I have had with my X reg Punto. I can't see myself getting another when this one is scrapped.

Welcome! Just about every car manufacturer in the world must have got it wrong with the design then!

Remember when my dad superglued the mirror back on to his windscreen on his Renault 21

Well I can happily say that after 4 months, the Araldite seemed to do the trick.
Its still attached and touch wood, I hope it remains attached.

Those pads are guff, for future reference i've found my local windscreen place will refit them for free if you ask nice.
