General Need gearbox advice

Hi all

sorry if this is a totally stupid nooby question

My 04 facelift 1.6 petrol eleganza needs a new clutch & gearbox, the bearing are worn in the gearbox and Ive been advised to replace it.

Im I correct in thinking that the same gearbox is fitted in all petrol multipla's? Im looking for a scrapyard replacement.

Ive looked on the ePER, I can't load a screen shot as I cant post pics here yet, but it seems that any petrol gearbox will fit, but I dont want too loose money finding out the hard way, noone local has one so Im going to have to get one delivered, when I find one that's suitable! Just want someone to confirm what Im reading.

My car has been sitting on the drive since before xmas now and its a massive pain not to have my car

I would say yes..brackets may be different if anything but you have your current one to butcher
