Not posted on here for a long time now, I know. I finally managed to track down a 'new' engine for my Panda Sisley. However, it was a standard 1000cc Fire engine not the 4x4 variety. It's been fitted and runs beautifully. Only problem is the pipe from the water pump is corroded and leaks water badly. Went to Desira but they need the chassis number from the Panda it came out of but that's been scrapped and the previous owners don't recall the registration either (except that is was a 1987 model, same age as my Sisley). So, my question is, does anybody here have a 1987 1000cc 2WD Panda that they could give me the chassis number of, that would pacify the man at Desira?

No need for chassis numbers.

Part you require is 7545122, which includes the "O" ring.

Check with a Fiat dealer to confirm price and availability.

Regards.

Ho Petel, there are 3 different pipes. How can you be sure that this is the correct one? You are right about the 'O' ring though - the guy at the garage told me to make sure that I get that.

If you are concerned, take the original with you as a pattern.
Regards.

Thanks Petel,in fact I think you are right. Just phoned Desira and they said in fact there are only 2 types and the other one was for automatic transmission. So, I'm off down to Desira to order the part (£32).

Current Fiat list price £30.02 inclusive of VAT

There are three pipes. Two for pre 1991 and one for post 1991. The other pre 91 pipe is for a later engine, regardless of the type of gearbox fitted to it.

Regards.

Thanks for all the replies guys. In fact, went back to Desira and they promised me the part for tomorrow. They are a Fiat/Alfa Romeo specialist dealer btw. I didn't know there were any other Fiat dealers in the London area but will look into it.
