Hi Fellow fiat owners. I have a 1994 Flair motorhome on a Fiat Ducatto
frame. It has the 2.5 TDI Love the vehicle and the motorhome.
I live in Prince Edward Island Canada and this vechile was brought over here 16 years ago from Germany. I belive the motor is starting to die as there is now blow back when you remove the oil fill cap and when you start it in cool weather there is huge amounts of white smoke which clears up in a couple of moments. I cannot get any parts here for the motor in North America. Where can I obtain motor parts to do a rebuild?
Is there such a thing a a motor build kit with all part included? Any idea on price?

any and all help would be welcomed.

All the best

Ron

Hi Ron and welcome to the forum.

It certainly sounds from your description that the engine is in need of a little TLC. In the UK we don't usually need to source parts from the manufacturers as the engineering company doing the work (Rebore, crank grind etc.) usually source the parts such as pistons, bearings gaskets and seals etc. However, if that is not the case in Canada then it sounds as though you will need to make a list of the parts required and try to find a company that will arrange delivery to your part of the world.

The crankcase pressure could be as simple as blocked or collapsed engine breather hoses or maybe a head gasket problem but until you get it stripped down far enough to determine the fault you won't know exactly how large a shopping list you will need.

You will get plenty of advice in the Ducato section of the forum so I would head on over there and hopefully someone will be able to point you in the right direction. (y)

Hello Ron,

I'm sure you can order parts from most European FIAT specialists as necessary ,
However being almost 20 years old , they may not be "on the shelf" parts ,
my camper is 1990 registered.. HOWEVER.. it's actually a 1988 build with 1989 parts too..!!,

so I would be careful of the specifics when buyting parts.., the EURO / £ exchange rates may well work in your favour agianst the Can$,
I have Italian Motorcycles and worldwide people buy from different countries to get the best exchange deals..,

I have a genuine FIAT factory engine manual for mine ( via previous owner) ,
this may be the best way of seeing what part No's are for your motor,
Charlie
