Hi everyone, I just registered here and trying to figure things out. I had my 69 Fiat 500L for 3 yrs and never had a problem with it. Took it out for a slow cruise, and it started running really rough. Got it back in the garage and there was an oil puddle on the garage floor. Opened the boot, oil was spitting out the right side saturating everything, afraid to start it now. Need a mechanic bad. Anyone know someone or a place I could take it too. I’m located about 30-40 min South of Atlanta just off the 75. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Gary, welcome to our forum and so sorry to hear of your problems. Loosing large amounts of oil is never good so yes, absolutely, do not start it until someone who knows what they are doing has had a good look at it. I'm afraid, living in Edinburgh Scotland I've no idea where you might find a workshop who could help and specialists in the 500 are probably going to be pretty thin on the ground over your side of "the pond" but possibly you might look for a Volkswagen Beetle specialist as there are similarities and there is a big following for Beetles. Also they are from a similar age so someone used to working on Beetle engines is more likely to feel "at home" working on the air cooled 500 engine?
