Just rang Navteq to register my GB disk and the conversation turned to updates and it turns out Fiat have pulled the plug on the updateable version of the navdisks.

What you have is what you keep!

Just my luck!!

I am a bit surprised as this implies that it was FIAT that were paying for the upgrade. It would be in Navteqs interest to allow one upgrade as you would be more likely to fork out for a new one in the future. I wonder if they are telling porkies. Maybe roadbuilding is grinding to a halt and the frequency of updates are getting less so they won't make as much money, who knows.

Er, this can't be true - FIAT won't have pulled the plug, surely. After all, are they stopping all the Stilo disks using that system???

It is interests of NAVTEQ, not FIAT, in any case.

I am going to email NAVTEQ now and find out :)

I was just on the navteq.com site and they are selling update discs for 125 Euros ?????

I have the 2008/2009 complete set of 18 discs for Europe and recently received a letter from Navteq trying to sell me updated ones, so they are still producing them even though it's 5 years after the original post.

Dave.
