Saw this on FF and thought I should post the link here for anyone wanting to sign up. Though there are benefits to lowering the limit, the roads themselves need an overhaul. Something I think the government always miss as enforcing speed limits is always going to be cheaper than sorting out roads

Me too, whats next eh?

That's the thing with petitions. I do kind of wonder if they have an affect at all or are even listened to by the government. Hopefully they may actually take it on board this time and listen to public opinion.

The problem with the government and transport in recent years is the fact they never actually listen to the majority of people that drive on them. Hell, they even ignore the motoring groups like the RAC and AA half the time. Even if they looked at what some of Europe do with their roads and the way they maintain them, they'd have a more effective infrastructure. But hey, I think that's too much common sense for the politicians :nutter:

One thing I'd love to see introduced is the car sharing lane.

Up in Aberdeen there's bus lanes everywhere. Pointless really, as there's never any fecking busses using them. Wouldnt it be sensible, and better for the environment, to let cars with say 2 or more passengers, use them?

I'm sure it's done elsewhere in Europe. It'd cut congestion, and thus pollution. But hey, that seems a sensible idea doesn't it? :nutter:
