i'm beginning to think of giving up with this problem, the garage has had it on the comp and originally thought the air flow meter was at fault,so we tried changing it and and still pinging when warm and when slightly accelerating, the only other thing he mentioned was he asked me to floor the car in each gear and said the fuel injector pulses are only pulsing at 11ms which he said should really be around 18ms and 14ms min! so in turn he's saying the car is be starved of about 20% of fuel what is should getting.what are causes of low ms readings on injectors or fuel starvation?

How is the injector time being measured? Is it with the proper fiat diagnostic or someone with a multimeter and a scope?

I think the 11ms thing is a red herring. Injectors change ALOT over time, either flow more or less so the time will change.

I think your knock sensor is dead, either that or your engine is totally lunched. Does it use much oil?

Even if the airflow meter was giving slightly wrong readings, a) it should still not pink and b) the lambda sensor readings would cause the ECU to change the fueling.

re:

he used a bosch kts diagnostic 500 computer nothing wrong with knock sensor, not using any oil.

Re: re:

Well surely he should be able to identify whats causing the prob with that. Has he done a fuel pressure test?

not yet

but it's going back in the garage on wed to get the rocker cover gasket replaced cause that's leaking! so i will ask him then about a fuel pressure test.
