Are these real or not? I *ahem* bought an ebook:eek: , and mystery shopping is one of the things on there it gives you links to.

Are they safe or some kid of rip off thing? I ask because it asks for details such as name and address and a photo and in this day and age of id theft (not that i have anything worth nicking and i challenge anyone to try and get credit in my name, that in itself would be a miracle)

Any views?

its just a crafy way of getting you to go and buy something at a particular shop. the agency get paid for it, you dont.

giving your name and address to scammers (aka "marketing companies" for legal purposes) is daft enough, but a photo as well!! you'll be getting junk mail 50 times a day for the rest of your life.

Can you make a full time living out of mystery shopping?

No, Mystery Shopping does not provide a full time living and our clients want to use everyday consumers who are going about their normal daily lives. It's a great means of supplementing your income or an opportunity to earn a few extra pennies in your spare time.

Does it pay well?

The pay rates differ from assignment to assignment depending on the scenario. As a general guide, the assignments pay on average £5 - £10 along with additional reimbursement towards any purchases you are required to make. Some purchases you can keep and still be reimbursed for!

Thats what its website says on its FAQ section:confused:

i can see you know a good deal when you see one.

i know a paypal address that you can make payments to and you get random mystery prizes in return. i'll PM you the address if you like.

An old neighbour of mine does it, and she loves it - started off small, got the reports in on time, and then it leads on to bigger and better things.

Granted, not massive money, but can be fun.

I will ask her, I think there's one main company which everybody seems to use. It's very much a "first come first served" thing, online. So it involves some luck. My sister tends to get 3-4 in a week and then nothing for a few weeks. Subway are really big on it. My mates at Uni won't share which company - not even with me! - as they then might lose the ones in and around Uni. I am not bothered about it though, not my sort of thing.

Oh you're a star, thanks!(y)

I used to do Mystery Shopping... It was a handy little number... Got to do such places as Pizza Hut, where I had to phone in an order, time the delivery and eat the Pizza and comment on it. Also did KFC, a cinema, Mothercare and numerous opticians. Once I had to bring my car along for a car dealer's training day. They were being trained in how to approach valuing and commenting on your car for part-exchange. They brought you around your car and tried to make nice comments before giving you a valuation... I brought my old Polo with me and had it all polished up nicely for the day (despite the dents)... Think it was the oldest car there on the day, so it was a bit more of a challenge for them...

As a money making scheme, you won't make much... You don't get that many jobs, the fees aren't great, the mileage is okay, but they try to keep you as close to home as possible to keep the expenses down. But it is interesting, and sometimes quite funny when they really get it wrong! ;)

Am more interested in the freebies tbh.

Would they pay for just one to eat out or could you take your other half and kids? (or is that being a bit too optimistic) lol

It depends on the scenario they're wanting to test... But the majority would be meals for one. Cinema visits would usually be for two...

mystery shoppers are the reason i get no bonus! we need to get 3 high percentage ones in a row (high percent=doing everything to the book etc) and we always do well in the first two. though strangely we don't in the 3rd one. i suspect head office choose a miserable person or influence the results in someway to cheat us out of our bonus(n)

Good work if you can get it though.
