General My windows dont work :-(

Got in the car today and the electric windows had stopped working. After a short drive they worked again briefly but have now stopped again now.

My guess is that there is a relay loose as its not the fuses.. they wouldnt have kicked back in otherwise.

All other electrical components seem to work, its just the windows that wont work.

Anyone any idea what its likely to be and where the window winder relays are so i can take em out and give em a clean?

I think the relay is behind the glovebox next to the relay box which controls the central locking.

Can't be sure though, a quick check on the eper (which I can't seem to find ) will clarify though

yep behind glovebox. while you're there check for power to relay, and earth.

earth is fine as everything else works... and the windows do still work, just intermitently when hitting bumps etc.. so its a dodgy connection somewhere but its more likely at the relay end as neither windows work on any of the switches.

will investigate sometime... i bet i go out and it works today

I had this for a while on the wife's car. Turned out to be the (typically pointless) connector between the door and the body. Just a bit loose. Connector, not wife. Unless any of you know differently
