Sorry for previous reply, oops!
I would check the radiator is clean externally, have the cooling system pressure tested, this will show any leakage, could be the headgasket leaking water into the cylinders/ steam comes out exhaust.

Dear Thinus,

Have you check the Radiator Fan ? I mean, are you sure that Radiator Fan working properly ?

Hallo
Jip checked and fluch radiator fan 100% This uno is in a very good condtion and well looked after. Also no bubbles in water, no water in oil.
Dit not checked the pump but seems ok . The temp is running about in the middle of the gage it was running at quater of the gage. and the fan stays on almost all the time. Please HELP anyone!!!!!!!

My fan only comes on when my pointer has gone just above half way level.

Normal running for me is just below the middle point in town driving.

Uno 1.0ie Start. Standard.

I am a schizophrenic currently so please bear with me whilst I try to get rid of the 40+ personality.

tempature gauge at about half way is normal. it was only going to a quater before because the thermostate was dead,

Has your overheating been resolved? I ask as my Uno 70sx 1300, which had its head gasket changed in Italy, had a new radiator and thermostat and sensor also fitted last year and a new water pump last week, is still overheating! A 17 year old car that happilly hits 90-110 on the Euro motorways without noise, pain or probs. It only overheats when in traffic and the bloody fan kicks in. If you have had the problem solved, can you let me know please?

Good luck

Someone suggested another fan... Kenlowe?

My current YELLOW fan pushes from inside the engine bay, is there any advantage to a fan from the outside sucking??

Fan switch OK
Thermo seems OK. It opens!
Rad pretty new.
Heat wrap on exhaust manifold.

Yet to try Matrix out.. Could that be blocked and causing probs?

Hotboy.

The fan is mounted in the engine bay right? On the "inside" of the radiator. When it cuts in, it should suck air FROM the radiator onto the engine.
