I guess it's on it's way out. Anyone any idea how much it may be to supply and fit a replacement? I have 2003 2.0 litre diesel. Thanks in advance.

timing belts don't do screaming !
this will be your auxilary belt
get it changed asap
if it fails it will probably jump into your cambelt and bye bye engine

NOT the TIMING belt - as others have said, it'll be the accesory belt - sometimes called the serpentine belt. Change it ASAP!

Two hours labour is very optimistic. The job is a sod - everything above the engine has to come off - wiper motor and linkage etc., the engine mount at that end of the block and most of the work has to be done through the wheel arch.
No need at all to remove wiper motor and linkage, its a bit tight but if you have done one before 2.5 hrs should do it, I have done 4 at this stage never removed the above. auxiliary drive belt is one of the hardest to replace. Make sure water pump, tensioner and idler bearings are changed at the same time, false economy otherwise.

Sorry - you are absolutely right - I was thinking of changing the timing belt, NOT the serpentine one. My bad!
