And your point is...?

Cows are beef (and tripe, tongue, hearts/liver/kidneys, gelatin, glycerin, lanolin, insulin, rennet, estrogen... and leather) :p

curry is Indian apparently an Indians don't eat cows

i now got strawberries (local grown) fresh pineapple ( that i bought a week ago but is only just ripe) red grapes, banana apple and a small orange thing :)

ah ha, seems all indians respect cows but hindus influenced the law not to kill them?

http://www.numenorean.net/blog/archives/2005/08/faq_why_do_indi.html

i dont think they are sacred like stephen thinks, just respected

also many indians wont eat pig as its seen as a dirty animal

The law in India said:
Cow slaughter is illegal.... in all of India except two provinces, the states of West Bengal and Kerala. Cows are routinely shipped to these provinces for slaughter, even though it is illegal to transport cows for slaughter across provincial borders.[13] However, many illegal slaughterhouses also operate in big cities such as Mumbai. While there are approximately 3,600 slaughterhouses operating legally in India, there are estimated to be over 30,000 illegal slaughterhouses.[14] The efforts to close them down have so far been largely unsuccessful.

from some where else on the internet

Beef and pork

As Hindus consider the cattle to be a sacred animal, beef is considered taboo. Muslims consider the pig unclean and do not eat pork, which is not generally used in Hindu cooking. Therefore, restaurants in more conservative Indian states, do not include beef or pork dishes in their menu. On the other hand, beef is commonly available in the North-Eastern states and Kerala[4],while pork is consumed in Goaand Karnataka only by a Christian minority. In Kerala, pork is relished by most of the Christians, and many of the Hindus.

Never seen a beef or pork curry on the menu in the Indian resties round here.

I always thought the cow was seen as sacred to them in one way or another. Seems I was right. :)

Thursday: Trip to Cardiff: The Cottage pub

After a hard day at the castle and down to a nearby beach, The Cottage had everything to offer: a good range of Brains' beers and a full menu - I opted for the SA Gold and a rump steak (with chips, beer-battered onion rings &extra mushrooms)
